2004 – 2025
21 Years of Building
From a GeoCities fan site to Fortune 500, from $400K/year to losing it all, to building again with AI. Every year, a lesson.
First Website on GeoCities
Built a Ragnarok Online fan site on GeoCities. Created a messaging board using InvisionFree. Became an online forum moderator. The internet felt like magic — capable of anything.
First CMS & First Money
Age 14. Built a fan site for an Akademi Fantasia contestant — dabbling with PHP scripts, messaging boards, and whatever CMS or forum software could be hacked together. Received first donation: RM100 for server costs.
RM100 — first donationFirst AdSense Check
PMR exam year — but more interested in building things online. Running multiple projects: mp3cari.com and others. Received first Google AdSense check: $100. Couldn't cash it — misspelled grandfather's name on the account.
$100 AdSense checkProject Explosion
Parents separated; father provided startup funding. Created social networks, forums, music search engines, and dozens of blogs. Started learning SEO and site flipping. Bought and sold profitable sites with good backlinks and authority.
Dozens of projects launchedFirst Major Sale — Jidox.com
Built Jidox.com (file-sharing downloader) with custom PHP. AdSense earnings hit $30-60/day at peak. Hired a programmer for custom PHP development. Sold for £800 — the first real exit.
Sold for £800University & Blog Pivot
Entered UiTM, dropped to part-time after one semester. Sold amirariff.com blog for ~$400. Acquired an authoritative domain and grew in multiple niches. Earnings grew from $100-200/month to $400-500/month in the video games niche.
Dropped UiTM to part-timeViral Traffic & a Painful Scam
Rebranded Dukio.com to PS3Crunch. Peak earnings: $1,000-2,000/month. Site went viral — 120,000 pageviews in hours, crashed the server. Attempted sale for $9,500 — got scammed. Later acquired JailbreakScene.com and Myona.com. Started hiring writers.
120K pageviews + got scammedScaling Operations
Led multiple news projects. Hired 5-6 people (local team + online freelancers). Average earnings: $4,000-5,000/month. By end of 2013: $10,000/month. Dropped out of UiTM completely. Opened a physical office briefly — closed it. Remote work was the future.
$10K/month by end of 2013The Peak — ~$400,000 Year
Biggest earning year: ~$400,000 from online advertising. But I made a massive mistake: no proper accounting, no audits. Spent 80% on expensive furniture, electronics, travel, entertainment, and stock losses.
~$400K revenue — 80% wastedCorrections & Losses
Earnings declined, expenses did not. Terminated contracts with friends and relatives. Lost ~$20,000 from forex trading. Had to take loans to pay writers. Never recovered to the $30K-40K/month peak.
Lost ~$20K in forexStabilization
Secured deals with advertising networks (in-stream video, native ads). Focused on Neurogadget acquisition. Income stabilized at $5,000-7,000/month. Malaysian ringgit exchange rate helped sustain operations.
$5-7K/month stabilizedThe Regrettable Sale
Sold Neurogadget for ~$10,000. I regret it to this day — I did not realize the authoritative value of the site. Still managed Blorge and TNHOnline. Blorge peaked at $10,000/month at its best.
Sold Neurogadget ~$10K — regretBusiness Restructuring & Family
Sold Blorge for $16,500. Sold TNHOnline for $5,000. Co-founded AAedia Sdn Bhd. Got married. Daughter Aurelia Nara was born.
Married + daughter bornDual Roles & Freelancing
Freelanced: developed a payment gateway for a travel company. Consulted for an e-commerce company. Led negotiation for a company's .com 4-letter domain name acquisition.
