Playfish and EA
Electronic Arts has announced that they have acquired a leading and aggressive creator of social network games, Playfish™ for approximately $275 million in cash plus an approximately $25 million in equity retention arrangements according to their official website. I say it’s a bargain for EA considering that their online players are more active than World of Warcraft and more game sessions per month than Xbox Live. This shows the importance and the size of casual gaming online. Also, social networking websites also have made some promising improvement especially Facebook (close to overtake Yahoo!). I think that this social networking bubble will continue to grow until we find out how to communicate telepathically and this increase my possibility to jump into this bandwagon. Who knows.
